Nigeria Police, Lagos state Command have arrested two suspect in connection to the killing of a newly wedded couple and their newly born baby.

According to a statement by Lagos State Police Command PPRO DSP Bala Elkana, he said, “28 year old man, Akanni Shakiru and his accomplice, Dayo Aina 29 has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for the murder of Mr and Mrs Akinbowale and their 6 month old daughter.”

The suspects confessed to the crime “ they refused to co-operate with us so we killed them, we never had the intention to kill them, they were stubborn and my colleague shot them.

“We demanded for 1 million, later we reduced it to 500,000 they still couldn’t come up with that, so we told him, we are going to sleep with his wife and daughter, after we slept with her, we killed them and took some of their belongings.”

Nemesis caught up with them during a stop and search operation along Iju Ishaga Road, Lagos, when they couldn’t give a satisfactory answer about the items and phones found on them.

Four single barrel guns and two locally made pistol were recovered from their one room apartment.

Investigation is ongoing and efforts are in place to arrest other the two other members of the gang.

The Lagos State Public Relations Officer DSP Bala Elkana reiterated that the suspect will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded while he encouraged citizens to be security conscious.
