Lagos Task Force Begin Operation Clean Up Ikoyi and Victoria Island.

The operative of the Lagos State Task Force team, under the supervision of CSP Yinka Egbeyemi aka White Lion, in collaboration with the Special Environmental Enforcement Team with the ‘Clean Up Ikoyi and Victoria Island’ initiative campaign project intensified its operation as the special team impounded 29 indiscriminate parked vehicles in Ikoyi and Victoria Island popular spots, last night Saturday, 18th of January, 2020.

The special environmental enforcement operative impounded 29 various vehicles that was parked indiscriminately on the street and also arrested some of the car owners.

 

According to reports, the sting operation lasted all night until early Sunday morning, while the enforcement team carried out its operation on Oyin Jolayemi street, Adetokunboh Ademola street, Olosa street and Oko Awo streets.

It was noted that vehicles including those that were parked at prohibited places including walkways and setbacks and the frontage of EKO Hotels and Towers were towed away by officials of LASTMA.

Officers of the special task force also arrested some owners of the vehicles who on the spot tried to escaped their car from being towed was also arrested and granted bail on the spot.

 

The Special Task Force and environmental officers also intercepted many street urchins, traders selling late night food at Ajose Adeogun junction linking Adetokunboh Ademola. Operatives of the KAI confisticated their goods and dislodged them of it.

 

According to eyewitness reports, the enforcement team also raided the Ahmadu Bello Way while it dismantle all illegal structures and shanties which harbored miscreants. The Task force officers immediately called on the men of the LAWMA to bring in their trucks to cart away the wrecks and mop up the area to ensure sanity is restored in the area.

 

On the spot assessment and inspection was also carried out by men of the enforcement team around Awolowo Way in Ikoyi and it observed parking compliance by the clubs and karaoke center customers with regard to their parking lane.

 

The Chairman of the Task Force, CSP Egbeyemi reiterated that the team will sustain the enforcement campaign in Victoria Island and Ikoyi area until environmental sanitation order is restored.
