Super Falcons Spend Night At Airport After Authorities Delay
Authorities at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport Abuja left the Nigeria women national team stranded in late hour and strict condition, some of the players revealed.
Agrieved Francisca Ordega among others could not figure why they were being detained but reports suggests that Super Falcons were denied entry into Abuja by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) over verification of their COVID-19 test.
Since the advent of this event, fans and well meaning Nigerians have deemed it “not befiting” for a team that has just secured a ticket to the Morocco 2022 Africa Women Cup of Nation, after a 1-0 away victory against the Lady Elephants of Ivory Coast in Abidjan.
This again calls for an efficient approach to proper travel arrangement (welfare, health management, finace, security, medical certification and documentation) which affects literally all Nigeria national team at least once in every tournament.
