RRS Commander, Disu Redeployed To Abuja
The Commander of Rapid Response Squad (#RRS) of Lagos State Police Command, DCP Olatunji Disu has been redeployed to Force headquarters in Abuja.
Disu, who worked hard to transform the RRS now known as #TheGoodGuys, has been redeployed to be part of the operations unit of the police.
Under Disu, RRS was significantly reformed and repositioned to effectively protect lives and property in the state.
Disu’s model of policing earned the RRS accolades as the best security outfit in West Africa and Africa.
During the #EndSARS protests, RRS was nationally and internationally recognized as a model to reform the police.
Disu, a Deputy Commissioner of Police was removed on Wednesday and directed to report to the Operations Department of the Force Headquarters in Abuja and was immediately replaced by the Chairman of the Lagos State Task Force on Environmental and Other Special Offences, Saheed Egbeyemi.
Likewise, Commander of the Governor’s Monitoring Team (GMT), SP Sola Jejeloye has been upgraded to replace Egbeyemi as the Task Force Chairman, while SP Ibrahim Bakare has been appointed as the GMT Commander.
According to the source, the State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu retained his position, a development that came as a surprise to many.
There had been calls in some quarters calling for Odumosu’s transfer from Lagos over his alleged role in the #EndSARS protests, with some protesters demanding for his removal.
But not many saw Disu’s removal coming even though his exploits in RRS was fast gaining ground.
Disu, who occupied the position throughout the four-year spell of former governor, Akinwunmi Ambode’s administration, succeeded in changing the face of RRS in the State with the code name, “The Good Guys”.
On Wednesday, Disu had posted a message on his Facebook page and Thepledge learnt that it might not be unconnected to the information which trickled in late Wednesday night.
He wrote: “I’m thankful for my struggle because without it I wouldn’t have stumbled across my strength. Alhamdullilah Robi Allahmin. New frontiers.”
Disu, an amiable super cop and a workaholic, has paid his dues in the security trajectory in several states across Nigeria, including Lagos.
He came into limelight in 2003 after he was appointed as the Aide De Camp to the former governor and National Leader of All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He has also served at the Ogun State Police Command as the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in-charge of Ago-Iwoye and also led the Nigeria Police contingent on African Union Mission in Sudan (AMIS) to quell the crisis in the war-torn Darfur in 2005.
Upon return to Nigeria, he was the Officer in-charge of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), Ondo State Police Command Headquarters and subsequently, Officer in-charge of the SARS, Oyo and Rivers States Police Command Headquarters.
Soon afterwards, he was elevated to a new rank as an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) and he was at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Rivers State Police Command before his transfer to Lagos State Command and subsequent deployment as the commander in-charge of RRS.
Thepledge also learnt that there are feelers that Disu might be penciled down for a higher assignment in the Force in Abuja, hence the decision of the Police hierarchy to redeploy him to the Federal Capital Territory.
With the Police Force still battling to recover from the aftermath of the #EndSARS protests as well as several ongoing probe panels across the country, Disu’s managerial acumen may just come in handy.

The idea is that when prices are high, you can afford less of the asset. But when prices are low, you can afford more. When the market recovers, you benefit from having bought more shares at the lower price. Please note that using this strategy will not always result in a profit or necessarily protect you from falling prices. Then, in May 2016, Wright announced in a blog post that he did create bitcoin, though he was met with prominent crypto figures who said it was false. Today, bitcoins can be used online to purchase beef jerky and socks made from alpaca wool. Some computer retailers accept them, and you can use them to buy falafel from a restaurant in Hell’s Kitchen. In late August, I learned that bitcoins could also get me a room at a Howard Johnson hotel in Fullerton, California, ten minutes from Disneyland. I booked a reservation for my four-year-old daughter and me and received an e-mail from the hotel requesting a payment of 10.305 bitcoins.

In Ethereum, developers create pieces of an application that run on the network. These are called smart contracts. Although you can deploy them manually without syncing to an Ethereum node, in the long run it’s more convenient for the development process to sync (especially when we want to use development frameworks like Truffle). Testnets are copies of the networks deployed by devs to test new decentralized applications, fixing errors without harming the main network. It is worth noting that despite the delays and challenges faced by the Holesky testnet, Ethereum’s mainnet remains unaffected. The mainnet continues to facilitate transactions with tangible value, distinguishing itself from the testnet environment. Beaconchain.eth acknowledged the Holesky launch setback, underlining the essential purpose of testnets as platforms for identifying and rectifying issues before they impact the main network.
