Noel Njoku, a Nigerian Food Delivery Driver, has been shot dead while doing his job in Mitchellville, Maryland USA.
Njoku, 48-years-old, was shot and killed while delivering food to a home in his area on Thursday morning, August 12, 2021.
LagospyNG understands that Noel Njoku is from Imo State, married with four children: two girls, age 15 and 13, and an 11-year-old twin boys.
According to the report by the police, Njoku was found in pains as a result of the gunshot wounds at about 12:20 a.m. in a car in the 3700 block of Lottsford Vista Road.
During a preliminary investigation. it was revealed that Njoku was delivering food to a home in the area when he was shot. He was taken to a hospital, where he died. It’s not clear who killed Njoku and why, according to the United States police in a statement.
Reacting to his death, his brother, Chidi Njoku said: Njoku was a happy, “peace-loving person” who moved to the U.S. from Nigeria decades ago.
He had only recently started working for DoorDash.
“Please, anybody who has any information, please, please, please — anybody who has any information should come and help us out, please,” he said through tears.
