The temporary closure is to enable the construction of the Nigerian Railway Modernisation Project (Lagos-Ibadan section)

According to a release by the State Ministry of Transportation, the planned construction on the aforementioned routes would be done in two parts to ease the traffic movement.

It stated that construction work on the first part of the affected route would be carried out over a three-day period, after which work would equally commence on the second part for the same duration.

While noting that commuters will be allowed to ply the open side of the road in order to ease vehicular movement during construction.

It said motorists are advised to comply with all traffic directions and road signals put in place to minimize the inconveniences.
