Lagos residents have been adapting to the recent changes made by the government in the transport sector. Lagos State Government decided to ban Okada, Keke and bike hailing services such as OPay and Gokada.

The ban seemed like a shock to the bike hailing service providers and it’s investors. Many people have been asking what would be the fate of these startups that have invested so much in growing their businesses.

According to TechPoint, GIG Logistics (GIGL), is currently in talks with OPay’s ORide to forge a partnership for the delivery space in Lagos. This partnership could see OPay integrate about 1000 of its bikes into GIGL’s delivery service, however the deal is not sealed yet

GIGL Lead, expansion and growth, Odafe Ojonah, reveals that both companies are already in talks that could see the multiservice platform, OPay, bring in its bikes in order to back GIGL’s delivery service.
Though OPay acknowledged that talks are ongoing, nothing is certain as there have been no other official comments about the proposed partnership.
In fact, a source close to the matter at the company stated that a pivot to deliveries itself is still an ongoing conversation, amongst other possibilities.
