Nurse slumps, dies on duty in Zamfara State
A registered nurse in the Ahmed Sani Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital in Zamfara State, Asma’u Lawali Bungudu, had been certified d£ad after slumping while discharging her duty.
According to Tribune Online the nurse was hale and hearty when she arrived at the hospital for work early on Wednesday but was confirmed dead a few hours after she resumed duty.
Public Relations Officer of the Hospital, Auwal Usman Ruwan Dorowa who confirmed the incident said Nurse Asmau was at her duty post (NHIS Clinic) and had checked the blood pressure of about 30 patients on Wednesday before she complained about a cardiac issue to a doctor
Speaking further, the hospital spokesman said that after her complaint, she immediately slumped, and doctors rushed to save her. “The medical doctors tried all they could to save her life but they couldn’t as she di£d instantly,” he added.
According to Usman, the management team of the hospital led by the Medical Director, Dr Usman Muhammad Shanawa, has handed over the corpse to the relatives of the deceased.
However, a family member of the late nurse confirmed that Asmau left home hale and hearty on Wednesday morning and went to the hospital where she works as a nurse without any health complaints. The relative noted that she has been buried by Islamic rites.
