Lagos Commissioner Named As Agriprenuer Of The Year
The Lagos State Commissioner for Agriculture, Abisola Olusanya has been named as the most outstanding Agriprenuer of the year in public sector by the Guild of Photojournalists Nigeria (GPN).
Olusanya, who was first appointed by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu as a Special Adviser on Agriculture, is one of the youngest members of the State Executive Council.
The award category, which cut across all aspects of the public sector, was presented to Olusanya for her outstanding achievements in Office as Agric Commissioner.
According to the Guild, “We have note with deep admiration and commendation the remarkable initiatives so far executed in Office by Ms Abisola Olusanya, especially in the area of Lagos Agricultural Value Chains Enterprise Activation Programme (AVCEAP), Lagos State Agricultural Scholars’ Programme, Agro-Productivity Enhancement and Livelihood Improvement Support (APPEALS), Lagos CARES, Butcher’s Academy, among others.
“As it stands, Ms Abisola Olusanya remains one of the outstanding female commissioners in Lagos State and Nigeria.”
Giving background to the award, the Guild said: “As you are well aware, the Guild is the umbrella body for practicing Photo Journalists in Nigeria. We ply our trade across the broad spectrum of the popular national media houses in the country. We have been witnesses to the continuing evolution of our nation and have contributed and continue to contribute, positively to telling Nigeria’s and Nigerians’ stories through our visual presentations.
“Indeed, our works have continuously lent credence to the saying, “A picture is worth more than a thousand words.”
“We have also, since the inception of the Guild, shown our thought leadership and torch-bearing credentials through our annual (two-in-one) event which include this award presentation.”
