‘Japa’: Nigerians Are Returning, Dabiri-Erewa Claims
The chairperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has claimed that contrary to the popular trend of Nigerians leaving the country called ‘Japa’, citizens are also returning home.
Dabiri-Erewa stated this at a press conference at the State House in Abuja on Thursday.
According to The Cable, Dabiri-Erewa emphasised how some Nigerians are returning to the country to invest in different sectors.
She said, “We speak of ‘japa’ as a one-way phenomenon, but we also have Nigerians constantly returning home. There are examples of Nigerians returning home, occasionally or permanently, to do interesting things, in agriculture, healthcare.”
