BREAKING: Gov. Sanwo-Olu Signs VAT Bill into law
The Lagos State Mr. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has signed into law the State VAT Bill as passed by the House of Assembly.
The Governor signed the “bill for a law to impose and charge VAT on certain goods and services” at about 11. 45am today Friday, 10th September, 2021, after returning from an official trip to Abuja.
The Honorable for Commissioner Information & Strategy Gbenga Omotoso revealed to journalist via a press release.
Recall that Lawmakers in Lagos State on Thursday passed the State’s Value Added Tax, VAT, Bill to transmit a clean copy to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for assent onto law.
The Speaker of the state House, Mudashiru Obasa, directed the Acting Clerk, Mr. Olalekan Onafeko to send the copy to Governor Sanwo-Olu for further action yesterday.
Hence, by this act, the Bill has now become a Law in the state.
