According to a statement released by His Imperial Majesty, he said; “On behalf of Myself, Ayabas, Princes, Princesses, Palace Aides, People of Oyo and Yorubaland, I felicitate with all Christians all over the world as we join them to celebrate the resurrection of the only symbol of the faith, Jesus Christ, who was crucified and who resurrected according to the scriptures.

“In as much as this is a thing of joy and like years gone by, it is always marked with pomp and pageantry, this year celebration comes with an exception because of the inevitability of the current worldwide pandemic and uncertainty that pervades the atmosphere. As it is, this Easter calls for serious sober reflections as a people and as a nation.

“The biblical injunction that teaches that we rejoice with those who rejoice and mourn with those who mourn, traditionally in Yoruba land, Kings don’t mourn (Oba ki se ofo), but I join my hearts in prayers for all the people who have lost fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters and means of lively hood to this pandemic that God will help us bring this pandemic to a stop.

“The only unifying prayer amongst all faiths is a stop to the ravaging pandemic. Hence, the fact that you are alive, in health, away from areas or countries with crisis is no indicator that you forget them in prayer. At this time the world need prayers, hopes because everyday we hear more of human losses than we are hearing of recoveries, hence we need to really do all we do with moderation.”

His Imperial Majesty concluded saying, “let us endure with the government, let us listen and observe the precautions that we are asked to adhere to, if we neglect these we stand at more losses than even the developed countries of the world.

“I want to reassure you that Olodumare, God or Allah irrespective of the ones we call according to our religions are all listening to us and they all our travails, hence even in the confines of our homes let us call on them. Let us remain resolved, strong, united, focused and we shall all see the end of this pandemic.”
