“A Lot Of Bandits Are Not Muslims, They Only Bear Muslim Names” – Babajide Otitoju 

Some hours ago, a well known Nigerian investigative journalist and social commentator, Babajide Kolade Otitoju (BKO) of TVC News spoke about the faith of bandits in a recent episode of “Issues With Jide”.

Babajide Kolade Otitoju made a revealing statement saying, “a lot of bandits are not Muslims, they only bear Muslim names.” Babajide Otitoju added, “most of the bandits are animists.”

For your information, the English dictionary defines animism as “a belief that spirits inhabit some or all classes of natural objects or phenomena.” In addition, it is “a belief that an immaterial force animates the universe.”

Babajide Kolade Otitoju made it clear that it was in the past the Boko Haram terrorists and bandits had an ideology of converting the faith of their victims. To Babajide Otitoju, these days, bandits are only interested in making money through kidnapping and other criminal acts.
