LASEMA, Other Responders Rescue Suicide Victim In Lagos

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, in collaboration with other Stakeholders rescued a middle aged man, Daniel Chibike Bassey, from Abia State, who was found right at the top of an unidentified Mast Located at koleosho Street Iyana Ipaja, from committing suicide on Wednesday, 27th October, 2021.

The swift intervention of LASEMA Dolphin Squad at Igando and other Stakeholders was enough to plead and persuade the man to come down from the Mast. He, however heeded to the plea and came down successfully unhurt. He was subsequently taken to Gowon Estate Police Station for interrogation where it was gathered that he lives in Dopemu Area of Lagos State, and works in Aluminum village, Dopemu.

Further investigation revealed he got to the Mast at about 8am in the morning.
However, all other information provided by the victim doesn’t seem to be coherent, hence the victim was handed over to the DPO Gowon Estate Police Station for further investigation.

LASEMA Response Team, National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps, LNSC and the Nigeria Police Force, NPF were the responders at the scene.
