Man Narrates How IKEDC Owed Him ₦800,000 Over ‘Ridiculous’ Billing

A Twitter user, Ufomma, narrates how the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission helped him after a complaint of “ridiculous” billing from the Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company.

He said after the resolution of the complaints, the Ikeja Disco owes them N800,000.

Revealing this via his Twitter handle during the past week, he said, “Recall that I once tweeted here about how Ikeja Disco kept sending me ridiculous bills and I had to report them to the #fccpcnigeria who gave me redress by crediting me with over N400,000 worth of energy credit.

“Well, the same Ikeja Disco did the same nonsense at our healthy food bar in Gbagada) again by sending in monthly bills of between N150,000 and N200,000 each month. After plenty threats and constant disconnection to electricity by a very arrogant business relationship guy, we filed a complaint with FCCPC.

“They invited us and the Disco for a meeting in their office in Ikeja, and after tabling our cases, they said they will get back to us and they have. Ikeja Disco is owing us N800,000, and even if they send estimated bills of N200,000 per month, at least we have four months respite and may get the prepaid meter before then.”
