MC luomo Ally Defends Him, Says He Never Ordered Istijabah To Be Burnt Inside His Car

An ally of the Lagos State Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), MC Oluomo has countered the claim by the newly appointed Chairman of the State Tricycle Owners and Operators Association of Nigeria (TOOAN), Alhaji Azeez Abiola popularly known as Istijabah.

Istijabah, who was arrested by the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Lagos Police Command following the fracas at the State headquarters of NURTW in Agege on Thursday, had in a video after his release claimed that MC Oluomo ordered his men to burn him down inside his car when he went for an emergency meeting of the Union.

Istijabah said MC Oluomo was particularly against him because he was unhappy with his emergence as TOOAN Chairman.

Istijabah alleged that his emergence was against MC Oluomo’s desire to hijack and control TOOAN.

But an ally of MC Oluomo who witnessed the incident on Thursday said the claim by Istijabah was completely untrue, and that Istijabah was only whipping up public sentiments to put MC Oluomo in bad light in the public.

The ally, who swore by the Holy Quran, said it was even MC Oluomo and Mustapha Adekunle Sego (State Treasurer of NURTW) that rescued Istijabah from boys who attempted to harass him, adding that he was surprised that Istijabah could shamefully attempt to change the narrative.

He said TOOAN had always been under the control of NURTW, adding: “There can’t be two Kings in a Palace.”

He accused the National Chairman of NURTW, Alhaji Tajudeen Baruwa and some politicians of being behind the crisis, recalling that he was personally there when Istijabah before now came to seek forgiveness of MC Oluomo for the wrongs done in the past.
