Lagos Hospital Embarks On Rehabilitation of Facility, Acquires New Equipment

The Medical Director, Randle General Hospital and Maternal Child Centre, Surulere, Dr. Madewa Adebajo, has said that the waiting time for access to medical care has been reduced due to new initiatives introduced in the hospital.

Dr. Adebajo, who was recently redeployed from Alimosho to Randle General Hospital, affirmed that the hospital has experienced a swift turnaround within the past few weeks as part of new strategies adopted to reduce the waiting period.

He said that patients now receive attention at different service points within the hospital such that more patients get service within a short period of time.

“Beyond the additional service points, on certain occasions, I usually leave my office in spite of my tight schedule to consult and attend to patients with the aim of reducing their waiting time within the hospital”, Dr. Adebajo revealed.

He explained that the ongoing reconstruction work, refurbishment of old structures, purchase of new equipment and the institution of a robust welfare package to boost the morale of members of staff are part of the new initiatives to reposition the facility under his leadership.

His words: “All these efforts are geared towards creating a conducive working environment and ensuring the provision of prompt and affordable healthcare services for residents of Surlere in particular and the State in General”.

“Specifically, there is an ongoing refurbishment of the Male Surgical Ward. The Dental Department is also undergoing restructuring with the purchase of a complete Dental Unit with a set of chairs. We have also equipped the hospital with a new theatre table for general surgery purposes and four patient monitors to boost surgical operations”, the Medical Director stated.
