Obasa Invades Lagos Assembly with Police, Declares Himself Speaker

In response to the ongoing Lagos Assembly Speaker crisis, the impeached Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, has stated that he has resumed his position as the parliamentary leader.

The current Assembly Speaker, Mrs. Mojisola Meranda, is yet to step down amidst rumors of her resignation from the leadership of the Lagos State Assembly amidst the power tussle.

Obasa stated this today Thursday, 27th February 2025, as seen in a viral video on social media, where the ousted Speaker was seen returning to parliament with police and State Security Service details for the first time since he was removed on Monday, 13th January 2025.

“I’ve resumed, and I remain the Speaker of the Assembly,” Obasa said.
