Buhari, Lawan, Others Attend “Discover Nigeria” Book Launch, Nigeria’s 61st Anniversary Parade

President of the Senate, Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, was yesterday among other notable Nigerians that joined President Muhammadu Buhari at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa for the unveiling of “Discover Nigeria,” a pictorial book on Nigeria’s history, covering the period from Independence in 1960 to the present.

The 392-page, 60sqm book, authored by the President’s official photographer, Bayo Omoboriowo, which coincides with Nigeria’s 61st Independence anniversary celebration showcases the country’s rich traditional institutions, ingenuity of its people, the beauty of its landscape, the richness of its farmlands, stunning waterfalls and seas, among others.

To mark Nigeria’s 61st Independence anniversary celebration, Lawan was on Friday at the Eagle Square in Abuja for the Independence Anniversary Parade.

Also at the Eagle Square for the parade ceremony were President Muhammadu Buhari, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila and other notable Nigerians.

Flowing from the Independence Anniversary Parade, Lawan was also at the National Mosque in Abuja for the Independence Day Special Jumma’at Prayer and Public Lecture.

Other notable Nigerians at the Special Jumma’at Prayer and Public Lecture were the Chief Of Staff to the President, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, former Head of State, General Abdulsalam Abubakar, former Vice President, Arch. Mohammed Namadi Sambo, Sultan Of Sokoto, Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar and the Etsu Nupe, Alh Yahya Abubakar.
