IGP Appoints Lagos Spokesperson Hundeyin as PPRO Abuja
The Nigeria Police Force Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, NPM, Ph.D., and has approved the appointment of CSP Benjamin Hundeyin as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), as Olumuyiwa Adejobi is transferred to Delta State Police Command.
According to a press release obtained from the outgoing Police Force Spokesperson DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, today, Thursday 4th September, 2025, in Abuja. CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, is the outgoing Spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, and has been redeployed to the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters as the Public Relations Officer ๐ฎโโ๏ธ(FPRO), in Abuja.
Hundeyinโs appointment, will be taking over from Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Muyiwa Adejobi, who has been redeployed to the Delta State Police Command as deputy commissioner police DCP in charge of operations in Delta state following his recent promotion.
Police authorities described the development as a routine administrative adjustment aimed at career progression and manpower optimization, stressing that it is neither punitive nor controversial.
CSP Hundeyin holds a BA (Hons) in English Language from Lagos State University and an MSc in Legal Criminology & Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan. He also obtained a Certificate in Civil-Military Coordination from the Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Training Centre, Jaji, Kaduna State. He is an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), a Member of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA), and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM).
He is a seasoned communicator, CSP Hundeyin previously served as the Police Public Relations Officer at Zone 2 Command Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos, he was part of the Nigerian contingent to the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Darfur, Sudan (UNAMID) in 2020, where he honed his skills in international peacekeeping and crisis communication. He also served as the Administration Officer at the Force Public Relations Department, Force Headquarters, Abuja. Until his present appointment, he was the Police Public Relations Officer for the Lagos State Police Command.
CSP Hundeyin brings to his new role a wealth of experience in security operations and strategic communication.
Since March 2022, Hundeyin has served as the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, earning widespread recognition for his proactive engagement with the public and the media.
As the new national spokesperson of the police, CSP Hundeyin is expected to spearhead the Forceโs communications strategy, enhance transparency, and strengthen public trust through effective crisis management and strategic messaging.
The Inspector-General of Police has charged him to leverage on his communications and security experience to bolster the Force Public Relations activities and ensure continuous positive relations with the public.
